About us

NESOT was established on 22 November 2018 by a group of people working directly or indirectly in the area of organ donation and transplantation. The main aim of establishing this society is to promote organ donation and transplantation in Nepal. It seeks to encourage research activities, organize various meetings, seminars, continuous medical education sessions, conferences and publish bulletins and newsletters on a regular basis to facilitate sharing of ideas, knowledge and recent advancements that has taken place in the various orbits of organ transplantation all around the globe.

Objectives:

  • To develop and exchange scientific knowledge and technical co-operation between clinicians, scientists and others involved in the field of transplantation.
  • To encourage research activities in the field of organ donation and transplantation.
  • To promote and establish highest ethical standards in the field of transplantation.
  • To publish bulletins, newsletters on a regular basis to share new findings in the orbit of organ transplantation.
  • To create public awareness regarding organ donation and transplantation, especially cadaveric donor organ transplantation.
  • To develop various audio-visual aids to disseminate knowledge concerning organ donation and transplantation.
  • To organize various national, international meetings, conferences, continuous medical education sessions, exhibitions to facilitate sharing of ideas,knowledge and recent advancements that have taken place in the areas of organ transplantation all around the globe.
  • To produce high level human resources by providing structured training in various aspects to expand the services across country.
  • To advocate policy interventions related to organ donation and transplantation.
  • To interact with various stake holders in formulating laws and policies in the field of organ transplantation.
